I am a freelance illustrator, designer and author. I have worked with Design Design, Wassup! Magazine, The Illinois Institute of Art and the American Marketing Association. I have taught at The Illinois Institute of Art, public and parochial schools, private companies and businesses. Currently I consult on branding and marketing techniques. I also draw incessantly; portraits and posters.

The Welsh have a place, Tír na nÓg, the land of the blessed. And it’s always described as just around the corner, just out of sight. To me, that is what we try to do with life, we try to keep it just out of reach. Even when it’s right here, pressing down on us, we do not welcome spontaneity into our carefully controlled and predictable day to day existence.
I want to release that uncontrolled, magical source of all beauty -LIFE. The force that animates us, the hard-won perfection which lies just beneath the surface, or just around the corner-if we can give up our need to be certain of anything. Through our pain, our suffering, life is ever calling us to surrender, to be seduced - to be annihilated so that we can ultimately live authentically - free, alive, joyful. It is in this spirit that I create.
My work begins with an India ink line drawing. I loved coloring books as a kid, still do, that’s how all my drawings start. I then fill in the darkest areas with black ink, most often on marker paper, but sometimes Bristol. I use markers to fill in the large areas of color, then shade with colored pencil.
My influences are Joseph Campbell, Michelangelo, Alphonse Mucha, William Morris, Maurice Sendak and Rumi.
