The importance of recognizing that you are always where you should be. Finding ourselves is a process.
'We shall not cease from exploration,
and the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started
and know the place
for the first time.'
T S Elliot
Our adventure rarely follows a straight path. We are always moving towards and away from our center; from our authentic being. The more aware we are of the process, the more we realize that there are no wasted moments. Every step of our journey matters. Labyrinths allow us to step out of our usual linear mind and learn to surrender to the present moment, even when we are not exactly sure where our path may lead us. We have faith in our process.
I see you as 'thou". Consciously honoring the divine spark in each of our fellow humans brings healing. The god that is in you recognizes the god in the other. Recognizing the Divine Presence in each other is a path to loving and recognizing ourselves. It heals our feelings of separateness and creates sacred space around us.
The Peter Iredale.
This once beautiful ship, grounded on Clatsop Spit (Oregon) in 1906. Its bones left to bleach in the sands...for generations to enjoy. All that remains is her hull, and the happy memories of the hundreds of children who have graced her with their presence.
Believe in your path. Because if you don't ,
no one else will. Is it easy to do? No. Does it feel that at times you are totally in the dark? Yes!
But there is always guidance as you slowly learn to trust your inner knowing.
Don't be fooled-awareness is bliss. Simply being present leads us through the pairs of opposites to center.
Becoming comfortable in our own skin is an ongoing process-shedding old worn-out beliefs in order to become...ourself.
Snakes symbolize both fear and rebirth. Letting go is scary. Holding on to that which no longer seves us is dishonoring. Trust that the fear will pass and know that you can be comfortable in your own skin.

Be Yourself. You make a world of difference.
Know that you have the choice to make a positive difference to everyone around you. Think of the ripple effect of a smile or kind word-eventually, it will come right back to you. What you give, you get.
'Be the difference you want to see' -Gandhi
Let your inner light shine. The sun center, our solar plexus is a brain in itself. Known as the hara, it's known as the seat of wisdom and our center of gravity, both spiritual and physical. Awareness of our inner light brings us into rhythm with our innate body wisdom.
Next time you have a gut feeling-honor it!
Sam Keen once said 'Decide where you are going, then decide who you are going with- and don't ever get the two confused.'
Choose your direction. Everything else will fall into place.
“I have always equated true compassion with inner peace; love with a rising consciousness. The more peacefulness and blissfulness you have found within, the more loving-kindness you will find for others.
In other words: Compassion is a state of personal happiness.
It is the one mental and emotional state that allows for a truly meaningful life.”

The Divine Quest of awakening.
As we awaken, our individual light joins with the light of all human beings regardless of race or creed. We become enlightened not by the materialistic world of illusions, but as Dante puts it in the last line of his Commedia, by “l’amor che move il sole e l’altre stelle”- the Love that moves the sun and the other stars.

Reach for the stars.
It's easy in youth but harder as we get older. We have to remember that the stars are still there. Most importantly is to continue to reach for our hearts desire because achieving that which brings us joy allows us to release that much more back into the world.
Sacred Ground came to me while reading an article about the oil spill that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. For me it represents our connection to all sentient beings, and how by our actions or inactions, we have the power to impact each other positively, through constant awareness and prayer. We are all connected in the great web of life. What we do to the earth, we do to ourselves. When we are able to love the earth, we will have learned how to love ourselves.
